Families fighting plans for HUGE development in village – AGAIN – The Sentinel 24 Jan 2017

Currently there are two major developments of interest in Baldwins Gate.

“Gateway Avenue” which is a development by Keir on land on which was planning permission was obtained by speculators Richborough Estates on a greenfield site owned by Atherton of Baldwins Gate Farm and then sold on. This application was passed on appeal and was originally for 113 residential units, but this has since been reduced to 109. The site is now under development and is being promoted by Kier – the developer – as Meadow Bank. You can find out more on our Meadow Bank page

“Meadow Way” site which is a proposed development by Bellway Homes on a greenfield site, owned by Don Law, Doug & Val Newton and Mr & Mrs Smith with a proposal for 99 residential units.

A number of further potential development sites around Baldwins Gate have been submitted as part of a call for sites by Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council.
